Last night my boyfriend and I sat down to watch How I Met Your Mother like we do almost every night. We love how hilarious this show is, and I love how it portrays women as independent and not afraid to be “unlady-like.”

At the end of the episode Marshall (the one who called “slut”) experiences being the “victim” of The Naked (Wo)man and says “I take back my slut.” So experiencing it for himself changed his mind.

I’m not saying the show doesn’t have problems with it’s treatment of women, (almost anything to do with Barney is especially cringe-worthy) but let’s be fair.

I’ve read them since I was a child and my brother has a Masters in Eng Literature. Its just always been accepted that Holmes was asexual and Watson only liked women.

Actually, neither of those things have “always been accepted.” It’s not even recent that those two things have been disputed. Rex Stout disagreed with both almost 100 year ago.

I’ve read the stories since I was a child too. It doesn’t make the idea of Holmes/Watson disgusting to me. And congrats to your brother. Did he like the Nero Wolfe stories?

Because Nero Wolfe was totally Holmes and Watson’s kid.
